Review: The Art of Racing in the Rain

The Art of Racing in the Rain
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book. I'm not a race car fan but I love dogs. I thought the story telling through Enzo's point of view was adorable. Halfway through the book I was so stressed out with the plot line and I couldn't stop reading! I hear there might be a movie in the works starring Patrick Dempsey as Denny. I hope that's true because he would make the perfect Denny!

Review: The Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just finished this book. So many emotions. I didn't cry but I feel so much for these characters. The ending left me flipping back and forth and I kept reading the last page. Did I miss something?!? But then I realized that's how it was supposed to end and it makes sense. I'm not even mad at the author for doing that. IM NOT MAD AT ALL, JOHN GREEN!! Really, this book is fabulous.

Review: Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies
Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*received a free copy of this book through Goodreads giveaways.

R is a zombie. An incredibly sweet, adorable, thoughtful zombie. R's voice grabbed me right from the beginning. The way he described the other zombies and bonies was hilarious. Sometimes I just wanted to hug R...and who wants to hug a zombie? This was a very quick paced fun read. The only reason I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the ending. I guess I was expecting something else to happen. I was also confused with what exactly happened with the bonies.

Review: A Clash of Kings

A Clash of Kings
A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ahhhhhh. What can I say. LOVE THIS SERIES! This one was a bit slower than the first book but I was fine with that. Arya is AMAZING - my favorite character for sure. Dany was one of my favorite characters in the first book but in this one...she was just eh. Didn't like Tyrion very much in the first book...and now I kinda think he's awesome. HATE THEON. Cant wait to see what happens next with Bran. The ending was fantastic! I want to jump right into the next book.

Review: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I've watched the original movie so many times since childhood and I was really excited to finally pick up the book. There were many differences between book vs. movie. One major difference is that the movie made it seem like Oz was just a dream. In the book - Oz is real! Dorothy's house really did land in Oz and all of her adventures really did happen. The characters in Oz did not resemble her family members back home. The story was fantastic! The world building was awesome! I went to see the most recent movie "Oz the Great and Powerful" last week. I loved that they included many aspects of the book in that movie. The Oz that I pictured while reading the book is pretty much the Oz that was depicted in the movie. Right down to the little china town :) I liked this book a whole lot and I will probably read the rest of the series eventually.

Review: Beautiful Creatures

Beautiful Creatures
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book very much even though it did take a long time for the plot to really take off. There is a lot of history that needed to be told before you get to the ending. Even though it took so long, I didn't get bored or disinterested in the plot. Loved the supernatural elements. Loved the ending! I am definitely interested in what happens next.
